On Memorial Day...
…it is good to watch movies that remind us of cliche sayings such as “Freedom isn’t Free” and “Remember all of those who died so that we might have our own way of life” because it is, in fact, important to remember that our troops fight hard (and often die) for the American way of life. Even if that American way of life isn’t always perfect and the causes for which it is taken to battle are not always just, we must admit that we would rather be crazy Americans than crazy communists.

So in honor of those who have fallen, I would suggest this short-list of flicks on Memorial Day:
- Saving Private Ryan - Classic.
- The Longest Day
- Glory
- Full Metal Jacket
- Platoon
- We Were Soldiers
And for those who, like me, have trouble taking anything in life seriously, here are two more:
- Top Gun - If you’ve got the need for speed, of course.
- Stripes
On an unrelated note to Memorial Day, I have successfully injured myself in the worst way possible for someone whose living is made writing things online — while at the driving range the other day, I seemed to have pulled a muscle in my right hand. It hurts like hell to type. I can’t even begin to tell you how embarrassing and ridiculous that is.
Today Neil is dumb because he injured himself golfing…
